British Police Cricket Club's 2020 fixture list featured for the first time a police women's team. After winter nets and team training plans were scuppered by COVID.
Hope springs eternal, and ladies fixtures have been arranged for summer 2021.
The Club's Committee has also been strengthened by the appointment of two new Vice Chairs. Chief Constable Lucy D'Orsi of British Transport Police and Deputy Commissioner Barbara Gray of the Metropolitan Police have both shown their support for cricket by joining up.
Chairman CC Simon Cole of Leicestershire Police said: 'We have big plans for when COVID lets us play again.
Our ladies will play their first ever fixtures, our men will tour the East Midlands, with six games in six days, and the National Cup will be played for once again.
Lucy and Barbara will bring real energy to our committee.
We just need the sun to shine!'.
