2 new teams will contest the National Final on Wednesday 8th September following this afternoons semi finals.
At Tyenmouth CC reigning Champions Northumbria& Durham hosted the new North West Alliance (comprising of Cheshire / GMP / Lancashire & Merseyside)
NWA batted first scoring 244 - 5 in their allotted 40 overs thanks to a magnificent 149 from inform Gary Knight (GMP). In fact his last 4 innings for NWA have been centuries plus he squeezed another one in during BPCC Tour week. he then followed this up with a cheeky 5 - 0 23 - 3 as Northumbria & Durham all out for 152 with none of the batters reaching 30.
In the other semi Kent travelled to Ammanford CC to play former Champions Dyfed-Powys, an ageing but still strong side packed with former British Police CC representatives.
Kent batted first reaching a competitive 230 all out in the 45th over with significant contributions from Roffey (72) and Bourner (40). Bowling performances for DPP were M. Davies 9 - 0 - 35 - 4, R. Davies 9 - 1 - 30 -4 and S.Cole 4.3 - 0 - 23 - 2.
In response DPP were 31 -2 after 14 overs having lost Evans (0) and Phillips (10) both falling to Milroy. They recovered thanks to a 100 partnership between G. Williams (60) and R. Grant (55) who both fell within the space of 4 overs. From there on in wickets tumbled at regular intervals with the innings closing on 214 - 8 and so defeat by 16 runs. 4 of the 6 Kent bowlers chipped in with a couple of wickets each.
Once again both matches have highlighted all the positives of Police cricket.
