NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP UPDATE - 6 SEPTEMBER

PSUK CRICKET NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2019

The semi finals took place on Wednesday 4th September.

Devon & Cornwall hosted Met & City of London at Braunton CC where they were bowled out for 168. Tangye top scored with 40 with contributions from Hughes 34, Brown 28 and House 27. Pick of the Met City bowling was Holland 7 - 5 - 8 -3, Gray 2 - 0 - 6 - 2 and Dilworth 9 - 3 - 25 - 2.

In reply Gray lead the chase with 80 supported by Burke 23 and Guest 20 as they reached the required total with 8 overs to spare finishing on 170 - 5.

Meanwhile South Wales & Gwent hosted Northumbria & Durham at Malpas CC where North Durham batted first after a 6hr drive.

SWG were briefly on top as they dismissed Taylor 1st ball of the innings but sadly that was the end of their challenge as scores from Smith 85, Bailey 65 and Stewart 53* allowed North Durham to close on 248-7.

In reply SWG collapsed to 85 all out in 20 overs having been 43-9 at one stage.

Stewart 4-12 and Tindale 3-11 ripped the heart out of the SWG batting.

So S. Wales & Gwent will now defend the Giffard Plate v Devon & Cornwall at Swindon CC on Wednesday 11th September (1200 start) in a repeat of the 2018 Final.

Met & City of London will play Northumbria & Durham in the Cup Final at Leicestershire CCC, Fischer County Ground, Grace Road on Thursday 19th September (1300 start)

This will be North / Durham 4th consecutive appearance in the Cup Final.
