he 2022 National Final will take place on Wednesday 7th September at Leicestershire CCC Uptonsteel County Ground (Grace Rd) starting 1230 - 1300hrs.
Kent will be seeking to overcome the North West Alliance (consisting of Cheshire, GMP, Lancashire & Merseyside) who were victorious in 2021 having just formed as an Alliance to compete in the Competition.
In the semi finals payed on Weds 20 July Kent hosted North Wales at Four Oaks CC and recorded what must easily be the highest ever total in the 45 over competition - a massive 406 - 4. Stuart Drakeley 210 (highest ever individual score) was supported by Cook 63 and Roffey 66.
In reply North Wales were bundled out for 64 with Simon Williams 6 - 1 - 15 - 5 being the pick of the bowlers.
In the second semi final at Old Elizabethans CC in Worcester W.Mids hosted the reigning champions NWA.
W. Mids batting first were in early trouble at 26 - 3 inside 10 overs, but thanks to a fine 80 by M. Robinson and the middle / lower order all reaching double figures the innings closed on a very respectable 212 - 8. Wickets were shared amongst the NWA bowlers.
In reply for NW, Phillips and Sidgreaves set about the bowling with a flurry of boundaries and raced to 100 inside 15 overs. Their opening partnership was eventually broken after just an hour batting with score on 143 as Phillips fell for 65 off the bowling of Georgia Davis. A couple overs later Sidgreaves fell to Davis being stumped for 71.
Knight 31* and Barker 27* joined forces continuing where the openers had left off, reaching the target within the next 6 overs and a comfortable win by 8 wickets.
So Kent will now play North West Alliance whilst West Mids will play North Wales for the Giffard Plate.
