Sadly I have to inform you that following the latest updates made today Team Police Cricket Committee has decided to CANCEL ALL Police Cricket (BPCC Tours x2 & National Championships) planned for 2020.
This comes as a result of PSUK announcing to suspend, with immediate effect, ALL sport until 1st June when a further review will take place.
This would have coincided with the start of the Ladies Tour, only 3 weeks prior to the Men's Tour and the National Group stages would have been due to finish.
Furthermore Forces are starting to impose an embargo on ALL Leave ranging from the end of June to the end of September and restricting all non essential travel. Clearly this would have impacted on the Championship so the committee felt there was little option but to cancel the season.
That said I still have Thursday 3rd September reserved for a day at Grace Rd Leicestershire CCC which (subject to availability and decisions to be made by ECB) could still potentially be used for some sort of Cricket day to close the season.
I will continue to provide updates when & if I receive anything.
